2011 is Coming!!
I know most of you were expecting me to post Christmas photos today and not a menu plan. :-) That was the plan but our computer is a little slow when it comes to uploading pictures and I have a LOT of pictures to share. I'm also trying to establish some sort of routine in our lives again now that Christmas is over and the New Year is almost here. I started yesterday by planning a menu and shopping with sale flyers and coupons for the first time in several weeks. Our budget is another item that needs to be worked on this week. You will probably see several post this week related to the New Year and goals for 2011. Our family logistics are changing as the kids are getting a little older. I'm looking forward to sharing with you about our family worship time and maybe even share a video of Olivia saying her Bible verses from memory!! (Yes, I'm a little proud of her)
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that you found hope in the greatest gift ever given, Jesus Christ!!

We have had a busy weekend and I'm planning to staying home a lot this week. We are having friends over for supper tomorrow night and I'm looking forward to their company. I really need to come up with a nice dessert to serve with our meal so if you have any ideas let me know.
My sweet boy has been a trooper this weekend and has endured the long car trips quite well. He is working on getting two more teeth on the top and it has made him a little uncomfortable but not that fussy.
We plan on staying inside or in the pool this week since temperatures will be in the 100's this week. So after I mow the yard tonight it's back in the air conditioning for me. :-)
Hope you are all having a great Monday and I will be back with more pictures sometime soon!!

Ultimate Recipe Swap: Lunches
are the theme at Life as Mom today and here are just a few of the meals we enjoy at lunch:
Wraps~ We just take flour tortillas with shredded cheese and pepperoni (melted), ham/turkey and cheese, tuna/chicken/egg salad, or peanut butter and honey or jelly. I also stuff lots of lettuce, tomatoes and pickels in some of these. you could also make burritos or quesadillas
Sandwiches~ We pretty much do the same with these as the wraps. We also enjoy grilled cheese.
Soup~ Chicken noodle, Vegetable Beef, or Cheesy Potato are favorites.
Leftovers
Salads~ Cobb or Grilled Chicken are my favorites.
Hot dogs or Mac and cheese are also quick and easy with kids
We also include sides like:
chips, fruit, or raw veges and dip

Simple Woman's Daybook: February 23
Outside my window…the sun is shining but the temperatures are still freezing.
I am thinking…about the scriptures I read this morning in Acts…Paul was making his way to Jerusalem and stopping along the way to visit with other disciples and churches. It seemed like each time he stopped he was warned of what might happen to him, (being put in prison or death) but he continued on trusting that his God had a perfect plan. I pray that if the time comes that the church is persecuted like in the days of Paul that I would continue my “race” for Christ and trust in Him even in the face of possible death.
I am thankful for…my husbands job and the funds God has provided us with to purchase everything we need.
I am praying…for my grandfather. He has terminal cancer and has been given 2 month to live. Please pray with me that his salvation is genuine and that his death is as painless as possible.
From the kitchen…I’m going to bake blueberry muffins today. We are having hamburgers, French fries, and deviled eggs tonight.
I am wearing…green pajama shorts and a white t-shirt.
I am reading…Wind Dancer by Jamie Carie and I’m still reading through my Bible.
I am hoping…that my babies are all better soon. We still have runny noses and coughs.
I am creating…better photography with my new camera.
Around the house…Olivia is eating breakfast and watching a cartoon and Noah is asleep in his baby swing.
One of my favorite things…Italian food.
A few plans for the rest of the week…visiting my mom, grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, cooking dinner for my extended family Thursday night, and a date night with my hubby.
And a picture…
Olivia enjoying some cake at my sister's birthday party last week.
